Owning your code: GitHub, AWS and no lock-in
Why every Studio project lives in your accounts from day one, what ownership means on Enterprise, and what happens if you ever leave.

Vendor lock-in happens when your app only works inside the tool that built it. FastCloud avoids it by design. With Studio, the code is committed to your own GitHub repository and the app runs in your own AWS account. On Enterprise, you own the code and the data, whether we host the system for you or it runs in your own AWS account. If you stop using FastCloud, the app keeps running and your team or any developer can keep working on it.
The old problem with website and app builders
Website builders made it easy to design something beautiful, and impossible to take it with you. If you outgrew the tool, you rebuilt from zero. Many AI app builders repeat the same pattern: the app lives on their servers, in their format.
What owning your software actually means
- The code is in your GitHub. Every change Studio makes is a real commit in your repository, with a readable history.
- The app runs in your AWS account. Your data stays in your cloud, in the region you choose.
- Costs are transparent. Amazon bills you directly at published rates. AI usage is billed by your provider, with your own keys.
- On Enterprise, the same principle. You own the code and the data. We can host it for you, with cloud and AI included in one monthly fee, or run it in your own AWS account.
- Tests and documentation come with it. They live in the same repository, so the next developer knows how the app is supposed to behave.
What happens if you leave FastCloud?
Nothing breaks. A Studio app keeps running in your AWS account. The code stays in your GitHub. Any developer can clone the repository and continue. We think that is how it should be: you should stay because the product is useful, not because leaving is painful.
Full control, without giving up speed
Working visually and with AI does not mean giving up control. In Studio you can click on any element and ask for a change, and the exact code underneath is always there for anyone who needs it.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the code built with FastCloud?
You do. Every Studio project is committed to your own GitHub repository from day one. On Enterprise, you own the code and the data, and you can move it whenever you want.
Where does my app run?
With Studio, in your own AWS account, in the region you choose, and Amazon bills you directly. On Enterprise, we can host it for you, with cloud and AI included in one monthly fee, or run it in your own AWS account.
Can a developer keep working on the app without FastCloud?
Yes. It is a standard code repository with its tests and documentation, so any developer can continue.
